Moving is hard for a lot of reasons, and it encompasses a lot of loss and goodbyes too. Even if it's a good thing, we're still leaving the last space that our pets occupied while they were here with us. Having a goodbye ritual to say thank you to the house/space where we lived helps us (1) to say goodbye to our house but (2) to honor all those experiences that we had within those walls.
